Man, sometimes time can totally escape your grasp. It seems like just yesterday it was June – but NOPE – it’s actually the middle of August and I have totally lost control of my summer. Totally. Lost. Control.
So, what had me all distracted? Well, a few things. One of my good friends “Action” Matt Walker got married! He’s the little guy that lives in Japan now cause he’s stationed there for the Air Force. He was able to come back to town and marry his sweetheart Amy – and I got to be a groomsman at the wedding which was super sweet! The two of them are a cute, goofy couple and I hope Japan is ready for their unique brand of oddity. By the way, the wedding was a blast! We had Matt, Brian, Blaine and I all there causing mischief. I’m sure Amy was losing her mind, but what’cha gonna do?
Speaking of Brian, it wasn’t but maybe a week after the wedding when he and his wife K had their first child!! She’s the cutest little tart, with a full head of hair and the best Frankenstein monster imitation you’ve ever seen! Seriously, she gets this slack jaw, furrowed brow face and her arms are all out straight and swinging around with crazy claw fingers. Halloween’s in a couple of months and she’s already got a costume sans a costume. It’s awesome!! She’s a couple of weeks old now and in good health. Super proud – super jealous of Brian. But, he knows that already.
Not long after THAT something awesome happened for me! I moved into my apartment! Yep, new place. Just me and THREE cats. Ugh… one cat was already hard enough but three?! I’m obviously mentally not stable.
…Okay, you called me on that one. Moving into an apartment isn’t even close to the same level of awesome as getting married or having a kid. Not… even… close. I know. But… still, it is hectic and to be honest it’s the first time I’ve had my own place in over five years so I’m pretty pumped about it. Not baby wedding pumped… wait, baby wedding. Someone call Hallmark, I’ve got the next great Valentine card series idea!!
…I’ve lost my train of thought.
Anyway, I’m still sort of in the process of moving. I’m a little lazy and taking my sweet time. No doubt about that. I’m mostly done though, minus all the fun unpacking stuff. The cats have each claimed a window and a corner for their own. Everything seems to be falling into place again.
Which is why, finally, the Joshua… has come back… to… the Internet.
So, here’s what the Joshua is cooking: For the next few weeks I’m going to get my stuff in order. For starters I’m going to get my buffer that I burned through back up and ready. I’ll be posting blogs and stuff as well, just to get back into the habit of posting. This way I have a chance to really prepare and not screw up when I get back.
In September I’ll start posting comics again, but when I do there’s going to be one slight change. I’m going to switch to a three day a week Monday-Wednesday-Friday schedule. There’s a few reasons for this. First, its a slightly lighter schedule that will be much easier for me to keep up and not fall behind. Second, just doing one less comic a week will give me a ton more free time that I sort of need. I forget at times how much time I spend on the comics while also holding a full time job. I’m not complaining, not at all! I just know that a little more time to breath means better and more consistent comics for everyone. That’s the goal!
So, bear with me a few more weeks while I get back to work and in no time flat we’ll be back on track and rolling better than ever!
Thanks guys!

Good to hear the reason for your absence was all happy things! Looking forward to comics resuming of course
