We Need More Power, Scottie
So, in case you don’t follow me on Twitter (shame on you) I thought I’d let everyone know the disaster that happened this weekend. Woke up Friday morning and my computer was dead. VH1 dead. It was bad. I had no clue what happened, as it happened while I was sleeping. That always kinda sucks.
The good news is I have very knowledgeable friends like Brian Sparks who know everything about something. Brian knows computers and technology stuff, and over the phone in less then 2 minutes he was able to tell me what was wrong, exactly what to buy, and how to replace and repair it. So, as soon as I got a day off from work (Mon) I ran to Best Buy. I was in the store 5 minutes after they opened!
Of course he was totally right, and now the computer is up and running again. That’s the great news. The not so great is that the problem is really just a short fix. This is the third time my computer has crashed this year. I’ve finally come to the conclusion I need to just replace the whole darned thing… which makes me sad since this is my first computer and I built it myself (with Brian’s excellent help) five years ago.
Still, no point in dragging out the poor thing’s pain so sometime this fall I’ll have to get a new computer. When that time comes I’ll let you all know of course.
The side effect of all this mess is that I didn’t get a chance to scan or photoshop the comics at all this weekend. That’s rough as it sets me behind pretty badly… most of my work on comics is done Friday-Sunday. Fortunately I still had hands to draw with (no hooks yet, mates) but it takes longer to do the photoshop work then the drawing.
The plan right now, regretfully, is to let Monday go without a comic. I’ll work hard today and get the rest of this week finished up like normal though I might be a few hours late each day. I apologize in advance for that. Starting next week though I’ll get going full speed once more.
Thanks for the patience everyone and I’ll do my absolute best to make it up to you! I have some awesome sweet plans for the near future! See you tomorrow!!

You know, you can put together a newish computer with a certain (pitiful) amount of gaming ability for less than $400.
